Small Business Funding By Government
When people search for government funding, they usually mean SBA loans, financing the government doesn't issue directly but guarantees, so banks and lenders extend it at lower rates and longer terms than they otherwise would. True government grants for everyday small businesses are rare and narrowly targeted, so we won't oversell them. What's realistic and widely accessible is government-backed lending, and Quordx Capital matches you to SBA-experienced lenders in our 50+ network with decisions in 24-48 hours, free to you.

How Does Government-Backed Funding Actually Work?
The Small Business Administration guarantees a large portion of approved loans, lowering lender risk. That guarantee is why SBA 7(a) loans run roughly 9-11.5% APR variable (up to about 14.75% max) with terms far longer than typical business loans, often 10 years for working capital and up to 25 for real estate. The loan comes from a lender; the government simply backs it.
SBA loans take longer than other products and require more documentation, business and personal financials, a use-of-funds plan, sometimes a business plan, but the rates and terms reward established businesses that can wait.
Which Government-Backed Options Fit?
SBA 7(a) Loan: The flagship program, up to $5M, for working capital, expansion, or acquisition. Best for established businesses (2+ years) wanting low rates.
SBA 504 Loan: For major fixed assets like real estate or heavy equipment. Best for owner-occupied property or large equipment purchases.
SBA Express: Faster turnaround, smaller amounts up to $500K. Best for established businesses needing quicker government-backed capital.
