Are Small Business Loans Guaranteed?

The word "guaranteed" means two very different things in lending, so let's clear it up. No legitimate lender guarantees approval before seeing your numbers. Anyone who promises that is a red flag. But SBA loans are "guaranteed" in a different sense: the federal government backs a portion of the loan for the lender, which makes banks more willing to approve you on better terms. Quordx Capital connects you to SBA-experienced lenders and dozens of other funders across a 50+ network, matching your file to the ones most likely to say yes.

What "Guaranteed" Actually Means

When the SBA guarantees a loan, it promises to repay the lender a percentage if you default. That backstop lowers the lender's risk, so they extend longer terms and lower rates than they'd offer otherwise. The guarantee protects the lender, not a promise of automatic approval to you.

You still have to qualify, but the federal guarantee is what makes SBA 7(a) and 504 loans some of the most affordable capital a small business can access, roughly 9-11.5% APR versus the 8-30%+ range on unsecured term debt. That gap is precisely why the application is worth the extra paperwork.

Which Options Carry A Guarantee?

SBA 7(a) Loan: Federally guaranteed, up to $5M, ~9-11.5% APR with terms stretching to 10 years or more. Best for established businesses (2+ years) wanting low rates and long terms.

SBA 504 Loan: Guaranteed financing for real estate and major equipment, structured for large fixed-asset purchases. Best for owners buying buildings or heavy machinery they'll hold for years.

SBA Express: Faster guaranteed option with a streamlined process and quicker turnaround. Best for owners who want SBA pricing without the full 7(a) timeline.

What to Expect

SBA loans take longer than other products given the paperwork, but Quordx Capital returns initial decisions in 24-48 hours and many non-SBA options fund in 3-7 business days. Strong credit and 2+ years in business open the best SBA terms; if your file isn't there yet, Quordx Capital routes you to faster alternatives that don't need the federal backstop.

Borrowers pay nothing. No application or broker fees. The lender pays commission at close.
