Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business Review (2026): Whether the Credits Cover a $795 Fee

Rates, fees and offers are current as of August 2026 and change without notice. Confirm terms with the issuer before you apply.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business charges $795 a year, and every other fact about it answers to that number. The fee buys a deep stack of statement credits, 8x points on Chase Travel bookings, lounge access, and a 1:1 Ultimate Rewards transfer ratio to World of Hyatt that survives the 4:3 cut Chase applies elsewhere on October 1, 2026. The credits are not one pot of money: a few post automatically, and the rest require a named vendor, a specific booking channel, or monthly claiming. That split is the decision. If you already route travel through Chase Travel and pay Google and ZipRecruiter, the fee closes on its own; if capturing the credits means changing how your business buys, it does not.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Keeps 1:1 Ultimate Rewards transfers to World of Hyatt while the ratio moves to 4:3 elsewhere on October 1, 2026
  • $300 annual travel credit posts automatically each anniversary year
  • 8x points per $1 on everything booked through Chase Travel, including The Edit
  • Employee cards cost nothing extra and there is no foreign transaction fee
  • $120,000 in calendar-year purchases unlocks three status grants plus two $500 credits
Cons
  • $795 is due whether or not any credit gets used
  • The $250 select-hotel Chase Travel credit runs only from January 1 through December 31, 2026
  • Purchases covered by the $300 travel credit or the $500 Edit credit earn no points
  • Employee cardmembers get no lounge access, no IHG status, and cannot trigger the hotel credits
  • The welcome bonus may be unavailable if you have ever held this card, not merely in the past 24 months

How the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business Rewards Work

| Category | Earn rate | |---|---| | All purchases booked through Chase Travel, including The Edit | 8x | | Lyft rides through 9/30/2027 | 5x total | | Flights and hotels booked direct | 4x | | Social media and search engine advertising | 3x | | Everything else | 1x |

Bookings through FROSCH by Chase Travel, Valerie Wilson Travel by Chase Travel, or Frosch International Travel LLC do not earn 8x. The Lyft rate covers rideshare, bike and scooter rides and subscriptions, but not gift cards or car rentals.

Points are Chase Ultimate Rewards, good for cash, gift cards, travel and pay-with-points, and transferable at 1:1 to fourteen partners including United MileagePlus, Air Canada Aeroplan, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, Marriott Bonvoy and World of Hyatt. Transfers move in 1,000-point increments and are final. The Hyatt ratio is the fact worth circling: Chase reduces Ultimate Rewards to Hyatt transfers to 4:3 for other cards effective October 1, 2026, and this card is exempt, holding 1:1.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business Welcome Offer

As of August 10, 2026 the offer is 200,000 bonus points after $30,000 in purchases within six months, shown against a struck-through 150,000 under an elevated-offer banner. Chase states those points carry "$4,000 value for select flights and hotels through Chase Travel." There is no tiered structure and no employee-card add-on, and posting takes six to eight weeks.

Eligibility is stricter than the co-brand standard. Chase writes that the bonus may not be available if you have ever had this card, a lifetime-style restriction rather than a 24-month window. The $30,000 spend requirement is its own gate, comfortable at real monthly volume and unreachable on a lightly used account.

What the $795 Actually Buys

Three credits require nothing from you. The $300 annual travel credit applies automatically to travel-category purchases each anniversary year. Up to $120 covers a Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS application fee once every four years when charged to the card. Up to $200 a calendar year covers Google Workspace bought directly from Google, through 12/31/2027, and employee purchases count.

Two more pay well only if the spend already exists. ZipRecruiter returns up to $400 a year, as $200 January through June plus $200 July through December, through 12/31/2027, and only at ziprecruiter.com. Curated gift cards return up to $100 in the same two halves through 10/31/2028, only at giftcards.com/reservebusiness.

The hotel credits ask you to change how you book. The Edit credit is up to $250 per transaction with a $500 calendar-year cap, valid only on prepaid "Pay Now" stays of two or more nights booked through The Edit by Chase Travel, so collecting it takes two qualifying bookings. A separate credit of up to $250 covers prepaid two-night Chase Travel stays at IHG, Montage, Pendry, Omni, Virgin Hotels, Minor Hotels and Pan Pacific, and it exists for calendar year 2026 only, January 1 through December 31. Apply late in 2026 and most of that $250 is already gone. Employees cannot trigger either credit, and qualifying purchases earn no points.

The rest arrives in monthly slices that expire unused. Lyft returns $10 a month, up to $120, through 9/30/2027, once the card is added to the Lyft app. DoorDash brings twelve complimentary months of DashPass, a $5 monthly restaurant promo, and two $10 non-restaurant promos a month on separate orders, all through 12/31/2027 and none of it rolling over.

Lounge access covers Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with two guests, Priority Pass Select at 1,300-plus lounges with two accompanying guests and $27 for each additional one, and Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges with one guest on Star Alliance departures. None of it reaches employee cardmembers, and neither does the IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status that runs through 12/31/2027 once an IHG account is linked. Reach $120,000 in a calendar year and the authorizing officer also unlocks World of Hyatt Explorist, IHG Diamond Elite and Southwest A-List for the rest of that year and the next, plus a $500 Shops at Chase credit and a $500 Southwest credit on Chase Travel.

What the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business Costs

The $795 is fixed. Employee cards add nothing and there is no foreign transaction fee, which matters on a travel card. This is a Pay in Full product: purchases route into a Flex for Business balance up to its limit and can be paid over time at 17.74%–28.49% variable, based on a 6.75% Prime Rate as of 2/3/2026, with a 29.99% ceiling. Anything above that limit lands on Pay in Full and clears monthly. There is no intro APR and no balance transfer option. Cash advances cost $15 or 5%, whichever is greater; late payments cost $40 or 2% of the minimum due.

On break-even, the $300 travel credit alone drops the effective cost to $495, and the $200 Google Workspace credit takes it to $295. Clearing zero from there depends on hiring through ZipRecruiter and booking prepaid multi-night stays through Chase Travel, the two lines carrying the most dollars and the most conditions.

Who Should Get the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business

A business with real travel volume, a Chase Travel habit and $30,000 of spend available in six months is the target buyer. World of Hyatt redeemers should weigh the retained 1:1 ratio heavily, since it gets harder to replace after October 1, 2026. Companies spending toward $120,000 a year should run the status-tier arithmetic separately.

Who Should Skip It

Skip it if your travel is booked direct with airlines and hotels out of habit or policy, since the 8x rate and both hotel credits sit behind Chase Travel. Skip it if the benefits need to reach your team, because lounge access, IHG status and the hotel credits stop at the primary cardmember. One gate also sits ahead of all of it: the 5/24 screen, which Chase has never acknowledged and does not publish, is consistently reported to cover its business cards, so five or more new card accounts across all issuers in the past two years usually ends the conversation.

Frequently Asked Questions

**Do employee cards get the same benefits?**

They are free but not equivalent. Employees get no Priority Pass, no Sapphire Lounge access and no IHG Platinum Elite status, and their bookings do not trigger the hotel or Edit credits. Employee spend does count toward the Google Workspace, ZipRecruiter and gift card credits and toward the $120,000 tier.

**Can I carry a balance on a Pay in Full card?**

Partly. Purchases route automatically into the Flex for Business balance up to its assigned limit and can be paid over time with interest. Anything above that limit sits on the Pay in Full balance and must be cleared monthly, with a due date at least 20 days after the cycle closes.

**What happens to my points if the account closes?**

Points do not expire while the account stays open, but all of them are lost immediately if it is closed for program misuse or fraud. Separately, a travel credit received within 90 days of closing can be reversed.

Bottom Line

This card rewards businesses whose booking behavior already matches its structure rather than paying you to adopt one. Automatic credits alone bring the effective cost to $295 for a company that pays Google, and the 1:1 Hyatt ratio becomes a real edge from October 1, 2026. Without $30,000 of qualifying spend and a Chase Travel habit, $795 buys benefits you will read about more often than you use.
