Atmos Rewards Visa Signature Business Card Review (2026): The Companion Fare Still Carries It

Rates, fees and offers are current as of August 2026 and change without notice. Confirm terms with the issuer before you apply.

The Atmos Rewards Visa Signature Business Card carries an unusual two-part fee: $70 for the company plus $25 for every card on the account, so a sole operator pays $95 in year one and a five-card business pays $195. In exchange it issues an annual companion fare from $122, built on a $99 base fare with taxes and fees starting at $23, released only if $6,000 or more in net purchases posts during the anniversary year. A free checked bag for the cardholder and up to six guests on the same reservation is the perk most businesses will touch more often, and foreign transactions cost nothing extra. Earn rates are thin outside of Alaska and Hawaiian purchases booked direct, which pay 3 points per dollar. The card pays for itself when a team flies those two airlines on a schedule and clears the spend gate without redirecting purchases to do it.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • No foreign transaction fee on a card designed around travel
  • Annual companion fare from $122, valid round-trip or one-way, after $6,000 in anniversary-year net purchases
  • Free checked bag for any cardholder plus up to six guests on the same reservation
  • 3 points per dollar on Alaska and Hawaiian purchases, with no cap on any category
  • 1 status point per $3 spent, uncapped, toward elite qualification
Cons
  • $25 per card on top of the $70 company fee, so employee cards add real annual cost
  • No introductory APR of any kind, on purchases or balance transfers
  • Purchase APR starts at 19.49%, above the issuer's other business cards
  • Excluded from the tiered Preferred Rewards for Business bonus; a flat 10% relationship bonus applies instead
  • The companion fare vanishes in any anniversary year the account falls short of $6,000

How the Atmos Business Card Rewards Work

Every net purchase earns 1 point per dollar. Gas, electric vehicle charging, shipping and local transit earn 2 points per dollar, and the terms read that band broadly: taxis and rideshare, commuter rail, ferries, bus lines, tolls and bridge fees all qualify. Alaska and Hawaiian purchases earn 3 points per dollar, covering tickets, flight subscriptions, inflight food and beverage, lounge memberships, cargo and vacation packages billed by either airline as merchant of record. Book the same seat through a travel agency or third-party site and it drops to the base rate. Nothing here is capped.

The currency is points, not miles, since Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles merged into Atmos Rewards. A separate status-points balance launched January 1, 2026, counts only toward elite qualification and cannot be redeemed. This card earns 1 status point per $3, uncapped, posting four to six weeks after month end and never appearing on the card statement. A business with an open Bank of America small business checking or savings account, or a Merrill business investment account, earns a flat 10% bonus on points earned from purchases. Cardholders are also enrolled automatically in Atmos Rewards Dining at 1 point per $2 at participating restaurants.

The Atmos Business Card Welcome Offer

The public offer is 70,000 bonus points plus a companion fare code after at least $4,000 in net purchases posts within 90 days of account opening. The annual fee does not count toward the $4,000. Both land in the Atmos Rewards account tied to the business card within the first two billing cycles after qualifying, and the offer is limited to one per new company.

Note the asymmetry between the two companion fares. The welcome fare is round-trip only, on a Saver or Main Cabin ticket within North America on Alaska or Hawaiian. The renewal fare that arrives each anniversary works round-trip or one-way.

Companion Fare, Bags and Boarding

The annual companion fare is the reason to renew. Accounts open with active charging privileges on the anniversary date get a fare code within two billing cycles, but only if $6,000 or more in net purchases posted during that anniversary year. Cash advances and balance transfers do not count toward the threshold. The code buys a Saver or Main Cabin companion within North America on Alaska or Hawaiian from $122, a $99 base fare plus taxes and fees from $23 depending on the itinerary. The companion pays those taxes, fees, surcharges and any checked bag charges. It cannot be applied to award travel or combined with other airfare discounts, and both travelers still accrue points.

The free checked bag covers any cardholder, owner or employee, plus up to six guests on the same reservation, on flights marketed by Alaska or Hawaiian and operated by Alaska, Hawaiian, Horizon Air or SkyWest. Codeshare flights flown by other carriers are out, and the ticket must be paid for with the card. Preferred boarding follows the same pattern on Alaska flights. Smaller items: $100 off an annual Alaska Lounge+ Membership charged to the card, and 20% back on Wi-Fi, drinks and other onboard extras. No elite status comes with the card itself.

What the Atmos Business Card Costs

The fee stack is easy to underestimate because it scales with headcount. The company pays $70, every card costs another $25, and there is no introductory APR on this product at all. Purchases and balance transfers both run 19.49% to 27.49% variable as of August 2026, balance transfers cost 5% of each transaction, and cash advances carry 27.74% variable plus a 5% fee. There is no penalty APR. Late fees are tiered by balance: nothing at $100 or less, then $29, $39 and $49 as the balance crosses $1,000 and $5,000.

One structural term is worth reading before you sign. The application grants Bank of America a security interest and a contractual right of offset against deposit accounts the business or the owner holds with the bank, meaning money sitting in those accounts can be applied to card debt. The owner is also personally liable for every charge on every card on the account.

Who Should Get the Atmos Business Card

Businesses with people flying Alaska or Hawaiian on a repeating schedule get the most out of this. Two round-trips a year with a checked bag each, plus one companion fare used on a route where the discount is real, covers the $95 a single cardholder pays. Companies whose spending leans toward fuel, shipping and ground transport also do well, since all of that sits in the 2x band.

Who Should Skip It

Spread your travel across several airlines and the airline-specific benefits rarely fire, leaving ordinary earn rates against a real fee. A business that cannot reliably post $6,000 a year loses the companion fare, which is most of the case for holding the card. Anyone expecting to carry a balance is in the wrong product: there is no intro window and the go-to rate opens at 19.49%. Companies planning to issue cards to several employees should price the $25 each first.

Frequently Asked Questions

**Do Atmos Rewards points expire?**

Atmos Rewards states publicly that its points do not expire, though that language sits in program marketing rather than a numbered clause, so treat it as the airline's commitment rather than a contractual guarantee. One rule is explicit: if the account closes, whether you close it or the bank does, points earned during the current billing period may be forfeited immediately.

**Does the card come with elite status?**

No. Holding it confers no status on its own. Its contribution is the status-point accelerator at 1 point per $3 in net purchases with no cap, and those points count only toward qualification. They cannot be redeemed for award travel.

**Do employee cards cost anything?**

Yes, $25 each, on top of the $70 company fee. That breaks the pattern on Bank of America's other business cards, where additional cards carry no separate charge. Five cards on the account works out to $195 a year.

**Can I apply if my business recently had another Bank of America card?**

Possibly not. The application acknowledgment says an applicant may be declined for additional credit card accounts if the business entity currently has, or has had, another business card with the bank in the preceding 24 months. It also warns that existing Bank of America card lines may be reallocated to fund a new account rather than total credit being increased.

Bottom Line

This is a single-airline card with one genuinely valuable benefit and a fee that grows with card count. Everything turns on a single number: post $6,000 in net purchases each anniversary year and the companion fare arrives, fall short and you are paying at least $95 for a checked bag and 3x on flights. Businesses that fly Alaska or Hawaiian regularly should hold it. Everyone else is subsidizing an airline they use twice a year.
